The Egypt of Gustave Flaubert

by Nicky van de Beek Email

Last weeks of this intriguing exhibition in the National Museum of Antiquities!

'The Egypt of Gustave Flaubert' has been received with much enthusiasm by visitors and press. The exhibition will only be up for another few weeks. You can still visit it till April 4. The famous novelist Gustave Flaubert made a trip through Egypt in 1849 and 1850, together with photographer and friend Maxime Du Camp. The exhibition combines fragments from the travel journal of Flaubert with photo's taken by Du Camp and objects from the Egyptian collection.
